Ive never heard of it being hurtful you actually need more folic acid during pregnancy it helps the baby from having birth defects

folic acid is very important since it prevents neuro-tube defects. I never heard that folic acid causes allergies. I guess I would rather have my child with allergies than neuro-tube defects!!!! I made the right choice!

Never heard of it. I googled “folic acid causing allergies” and got no results. Only results for allergies to folic acid.

I haven’t heard of this theory before but reading about it now worries me somewhat? I’m pregnant with my first and was prescribed folic acid by my GP. My dad is a GP and he’s said that taking folic acid is perfectly healthy for my baby. I’ve read somewhere that you should stay awaty from eating high risk allergy foods such as nuts while pregnant as these can cause the baby to become allergic in the future, but nothing about folic acid? Hope someone can clarify this a little better on here!!!

just about everyone takes prenatals, but not everyone has allergies. its likely more genetic.
